My first draft most things are usually bare bones and I have to go back and add little details in, mainly because I want to know what the action is before I fine tune it.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01677563505368503476noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1248193231958936629.post-46494489421783587222010-04-20T12:40:10.607+10:002010-04-20T12:40:10.607+10:00I have to rewrite my action scenes many times. It takes me many revisions to get the balance of enough detail, plus a little introspection, or they feel too rushed.Deb Salisbury, Magic Seeker and Mantua-Makerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01513482264195697450noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1248193231958936629.post-16721275683243374212010-04-20T06:05:12.250+10:002010-04-20T06:05:12.250+10:00@Lydia. That's the problem, trying to get the right level of description and tension because if there's too much then you end up losing the tension.

@Angela. Fight scenes or any action scenes probably are the most difficult to write because you've been building up tension, the scene you write can either keep that tension or be a massive let down. I've read several stories that I was disappointed in when it came to the fight scenes because all the tension was lost or nothing happened.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01677563505368503476noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1248193231958936629.post-33673268993217633162010-04-19T23:50:41.776+10:002010-04-19T23:50:41.776+10:00Great post! Which is why my scenes tend to be short as well.Angelahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17618598756518215871noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1248193231958936629.post-51410520503829969912010-04-19T22:01:22.197+10:002010-04-19T22:01:22.197+10:00I have a lot of problems with fight scenes too. I've had the complaint that I let the action happen too fast, and I need to prolong the tension!Lydia Kanghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00484415427764822386noreply@blogger.com
