Shrouded in Illusion
(Shrouded Series #3)
Someone wants Skye Hunter’s son and they’re willing to kill her or anyone else to get to him. One the run for her life, she is forced to turn to the only person who can help her—a complete stranger with a shared past—David Bishop, a renowned illusionist.
David’s life is also an illusion, built of smoke and little else. He meets Skye, a woman filled with passion and conviction, and the pain he sees in her eyes is a mirror to his own soul. But when he realizes she has the same strange, telekinetic phenomenon inside her body that he does, he is forced to question his life, his childhood and the father who raised him. Can these two lost souls uncover the mystery behind their powers and save Skye’s son and themselves in the process?

My Review
Skye and her son, Tyler are on the run from dangerous people who will do anything to get to Tyler and Skye will do anything to keep Tyler safe. Taking refuge in Las Vegas, she turns to an illusionist named David Bishop for help. From the moment they meet David feels drawn to Skye, and it's not just because they both possess the same ability - the ability to move objects with their minds - but David doesn't know why. Neither can deny that they have a strong connection and Skye hopes with David's help she'll be able to protect Tyler no matter what it takes.

H.D. Thomson has created a fast-paced and suspenseful story that kept me reading from beginning to end, wanting to know what was going to happen next. Skye is a strong and powerful woman who is very protective of her child and would do anything to ensure his safety. She has been through a lot in her life and all of her trials and emotions can be seen throughout the whole novel. David, on the other hand, is a little hard to warm up to. At times he could appear like a real jerk, but that doesn't mean that there weren't some electrifying scenes between Skye and David such as their first meeting at the roulette wheel.

Overall, this was a thrilling read with plenty of mystery and intrigue and I recommend Shrouded in Illusion to anyone who loves a paranormal thriller and mystery.

Sounds like a great book. I have a long reading list right now but will add it to by TBR on Goodreads.
