Well, I feel like a time for a change. I usually stick with paranormal. Actually, I love anything paranormal. But, I've had a strong impulse to write something contemporary (along with an idea). I have read other contemporary stories, but I always find myself moving back over to the paranormal side.
So, what sort of stories do you read or write?

I normally write sweet contemporary romances and that's what I usually read. But I do like to switch things up with a little YA or women's fiction too.
Fantasy and urban fantasy. It's what I read and what I write.
Good luck with the contemporary.
Kudos to you for trying a new genre! When I did that, I discovered an entire new place to explore with my writing. :)
I write EVERYTHING! :)
I'm especially big on fantasy, but I do, seriously, write everything that comes into my head.
Speculative fiction, generally urban fantasy. Though I've found myself recently wanting to dabble in horror or young adult.
Ha, sounds like me. I'm currently writing a contemporary YA intended for my niece who likes that real stuff. I was close to adding aliens in there, or maybe a ghost or something...anything...but when I spoke with her she gave me that look. And so I keep thinking, while I'm writing, that I am writing it for her..and only her. It helps.
Literary fiction with mythological and romantic elements. Thinking of trying some YA in November.
I read fantasy, science fiction, and thrillers, and at the moment I am writing science fiction.
I read a little bit of everything, MG/YA books mainly, since that's what I write. I like contemporary fiction.
Oh, and I tagged you on my blog: http://dutchhillnews.blogspot.com/2010/08/whats-in-my-handbag.html
