When Characters Scream

Don't you just hate it when the voices in your head just won't shut up. I've been busy lately with trying to keep up with uni work as well as family commitments and writing, but still I'm trying to start a new writing project.

Usually I have several ideas brewing at a time, but this time, the character that was developing in my head just wouldn't shut up. She really, really, really wanted me to start her story.

How can I say no to that.

So, meet Seraphine (or Sera for short). She is a modern day Cassandra who has visions of death, which is a very useful gift to the underworld. That is why her and her brother are on the run from the paranormal creatures that killed their parents. But, where can they hide when there's a bounty on their head and all the paranormal creatures out there are out to collect?

So, have you ever had characters that scream to be written? How vocal are your characters?

Very cool story idea Cheree... can't wait to read that one:)
Characters are funny, hey, some will kick and scream to come out, and others you have to drag out of your mind...

I really like your idea :) sounds interesting.

Too bad I don't have inspiration that big. Mine only works for few minutes :D So I think I'm not able to write a story or something :D

Sometimes I use duct tape if characters absolutely won't shut up.. something I'd love to try on my children on some days.
An exciting idea with young Sera! Write on!

YES!!!!! While editing my last project, the voice for my current WIP wouldn't shut up until I finally gave in and started writing her story. :D

That is an excellent sounding story! Go forth and WRITE!!

And I'm right there with you. I have a teenage boy screaming at me (and he uses very fowl language) trying to get me to forget my other projects and write his dang story already! (except he didn't say dang)

She and the story sound amazing!

My characters usually stand in the room and stamp there foot, like Sonic the Hedgehog. Hehe. I'm not mad. Honest.

My characters either:
A. talk to me nonstop
B. ignore me and do their own thing, take Jet, Antonio, and Stephen as examples. They were supposed to be temporary characters but they took on a life of their.
C. yell and threaten me to write their story but refuse to tell me the one thing I need to know so that I can write.
OR
D. decided to hop into other stories because they feel like taking over the world. My character Yixhunine is doing that a lot lately. If the story as vampires and demons in it still she appears and yes she wants to take over the world.

Right there's a war in my head between to stories and their characters and just fyi these characters should NEVER HAVE MET! Now all they do talk, run from each other, throw parties and other crazy things. ((sighs)) Anyone else have this problem? TT_TT
