I used to love family game time when I was younger and we all sat around a massive jigsaw puzzle, trying to find which piece goes where. Sometimes it got frustrating because the piece I had didn't fit where I wanted it to go, and sometimes I just felt like giving up (especially when faced with endless blue tiles of sky).
Isn't life just like one big jigsaw puzzle. You're constantly finding the pieces to put together, sometimes even banging away at odd shaped pieces to make them fit. That's how I feel sometimes, and as a writer it's my job to create a puzzle for my characters (and the readers) to try and piece together.
When will the jigsaw be complete? Well, that all depends on what you're aiming for. If you can see your goal and know exactly what you're doing, I can say that you're almost there. Just a few more annoying pieces to bang into place along the way. If you're not, there's no need to despair. Finding the pieces could be even more fun and challenging.
As for me, I can see my puzzle coming together. I'm just enjoying putting the puzzle together on my way.
So, how is your jigsaw puzzle going? Is it near complete or are you just beginning?

Oh goodness, my jigsaw puzzle is a mess. I think someone with a sense of humor took the partially finished puzzle and tossed it in the air a few times along the way.
Popping in by way of the A-Z Challenge. I’m blogging at:

I'm still putting mine together but it's a lot of fun! Great topic ;)
Love this metaphor! It's nearing completion on one thing, but I have a way to go on all the other jigsaws in my life.
Hmmm, gotta say most of the major pieces are together...it's just finding the little ones to make the puzzle whole. ;)
An apt metaphor. I sometimes think of putting a manuscript together as a jigsaw puzzle too. I see one piece so I write it down, then start comparing it to all the other pieces I have. It might not appear to match up at first but the more I look at them the more I realize they do.
I'll probably put in the last piece just before I die!
And I'm sorry, I thought I was following you! And you've been so good leaving coments. My bad!
The problem with my jigsaw puzzle is I keep finding out that what I thought was one puzzle was only a portion of it.
Okay, I'll admit it, I suck at jigsaw puzzles. I want to chop off pieces just to make them fit!
I'm afraid if I complete my puzzle, I'll be dead! LOL Instead, I'll think of my life like a constant family game night, having lots of laughs, knocking some of the pieces off and having to put them back in, making discoveries together ....
Great J! Loved it!
When we used to put puzzles together, we started with the frame - maybe everyone does - but I've got my frame and some main bits and pieces of the big picture, so I've still got a long way to go. It's fun though.
Have a good week. :)
