Clearing the clutter

I've finally managed to unpack everything from my last house move (it's probably a year late, but at least it's done) and my room is now clean and organised. With being off and everything I'm having a lot of time to tidy the house, and finally (and I do say finally) get a place where I can write.

I'm finding having an organised area to write is helping me productively, I'm actually getting through more of my story and feel more inspired (who'd have thunk that... a clean place is actually good).

So, do you have an area in your house that you write in? Or, do you write anywhere?

I don't have a designated area in the house that I write in, but I usually sit at my desk. And it's always so much nicer when I have cleared up the cluster.

I don't have a desk since I'm only home a whopping 3 months a year, but I usually either sit on the couch or on my bed and write with my computer in my lap.

Glad you're finally settled and the clean writing space is helping! :)

Only a year to unpack? Wow, I never seem to fully settle into a place once I've moved. Been here for almost four years and I don't think I have.

I kind of have a place to write but I pretty much write everywhere which can be bad as I end up with pieces of paper strewn all over the house and me frantically running around trying to find the notes I need.

Why do those last moving boxes linger? I agree, an uncluttered house does help a bit.

I have a laptop, will travel, so I can writer anywhere (even during my children's loud Taekwondo classes), but most of my writing is on my love seat in my living room. During the day, it's bright and sunny, and my cat often sits on my lap. I think she's my part-time muse.

LOL! Every now and then I find a box I didn't unpack when I moved 7 years ago. I'm almost afraid to look inside.

I have a little room that triples as my library (well, part of it), my home business, and my writing room. I have a desktop, so I can't wander.

I tend to write on my bed or in my favourite chair in the living room. My laptop goes anywhere :)

I actually have my own little writing room with bookshelves, a room with a view, and my laptop. It's heaven!

Congrats on getting totally unpacked! I can write wherever - it actually depends on the story. Some stories have to be written in my room, others CAN'T be written in my room, some I can just work on anywhere. :)
But it's easier when I room is clean. I get distracted otherwise.

Yea for unpacking!

I have a laptop so we go just about anywhere couch, table, outside, beach! No I don't take it out to eat or anything lol! I do need changes of scenery though.

Ick, I hate unpacking. I have had more than my fair share of moving. Glad you got it all done :) I tend to write downstairs on the couch with either mindless noise from the TV in the background or music that helps inspire a mood. I try to write elsewhere but it tends to be jotted notes or doodles for me to interperet later when I'm on the couch. And it HAS to be clutter free, or I can't for the life of me write
